WULAI ATAYAL MUSEUM

Located on what used to be the home ground of the Atayal tribe, this museum introduces the historical origins of the Atayal aboriginal peoples, their traditional humanities, life customs, religious beliefs, significant festivals, aesthetic arts, and handmade crafts. You can even experience the Atayal culture yourself by tasting the Atayal delicacies on the Wulai Old Street or participating in traditional festivals and DIY craft activities. Free scheduled tours are available.

福山部落 (FUKUYAMA TRIBE)

One of the most traditional and best-preserved Atayal native tribe ground in Taiwan. Surrounded by scattered mountains and clear streams, it’s quite a phenomenal village with murals and sculptures everywhere, showing themes of Atayal life, beliefs, and culture. It’s even more breathtaking during the springtime when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

烏來谷繞有機休閒農場 (WULAI GULUO ORGANIC LEISURE FARM)

Pesticide-free farm producing organic vegetables. They harvest the special Atayal mountain pepper, Magao, to make one-of-a-kind products, such as Magao sausages, peanuts, and chilly sauce. Come and enjoy the gorgeous sceneries too.

泰雅巴萊部落村 (ATAYALBALAY ABORIGINAL VILLAGE CAMPSITE)

Clean and well-supplied campsite with welcoming and eager hosts to share the Atayal culture and traditions through different interactive activities, such as bamboo-rice DIY, learning the Atayal-language, singing and dancing to traditional Atayal songs, archery and hunting, barbecuing, wearing Atayal costumes, and so much more! There’s also an annual firefly watching event from April to May. It’s the perfect getaway for the urbanites.

森杉鍋物

Everything served in the hotpot shop is made by the Aboriginal owner himself, from purchasing the ingredients to making the soup base and sauces. The unique interior decoration reflects the bark craftsmanship of the Aboriginal culture. Italian-Taiwanese fusion pasta dishes available through UberEats.

Aboriginal-western fusion dishes made with native ingredients and spices. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice long, exquisite meal. Each dish is made with care and dedication, so it’s definitely worth the wait. Extra discount offered for special take-out meal boxes during the epidemic-prevention period.

HBUN INDIGENOUS LIFESTYLE (HANDICRAFT WORKSHOP)

Cozy shop specializing in handmade items of high-quality Aboriginal craftsmanship, from bags and accessories to ornaments and ceramics. Their original intention is very simple: to share their daily tribal life through their artworks so that everyone can enjoy tribal beauty together.

渼潞 ABORIGINAL HANDICRAFT WORKSHOP

Just across the street from the Wulai Atayal Museum, the workshop sells Aboriginal-themed products from postcards and keychains to clothing and accessories. They even have traditional millet wine and  Magao-flavored products, such as Magao pineapple cakes, Magao jerky, Magao spicy peanuts, Magao essential oils, and much more. They also offer handmade accessories DIY courses.

米沙路莊園 (MISARO)

An aboriginal-owned gift shop featuring cultural products such as handmade soap, Aboriginal spices, millet wine, fragrant black tea, organic fruit vinegar, dried fruit snacks, and coffee, which they specialize in. Strictly selected, freshly baked, and carefully shuttled from Taitung to ensure the most authentic flavor of Taitung coffee.
